Our first year of the NJSFWC Special State Project 2018-2020 is coming to an end, and our club has outdone ourselves with donations!
In April we welcomed Michele Musick from CASA of Cumberland, Gloucester & Salem Counties, and presented her with blankets, books, baby clothes and stuffed animals. We heard a little bit about the many children in foster care who have Court Appointed Special Advocates to speak for them.
Here’s what we’ve donated since last May:
- 71 Pairs of PJ’s
- 8 Duffle Bags
- 12- $10 Gift Cards
- 29 Sweatshirts
- 8 Sweatpants
- 20 Fleece Blankets
- 14 Children’s Books
In addition, we raised over $1,200 with a 50-50 at our Designer Handbag Bingo last October.
Way to go, ladies!
About CASA of NJ
CASA of New Jersey, Inc. is part of a national network of non-profit programs that advocate for children removed from their families because of abuse or neglect. CASA of NJ promotes and supports a statewide network of local CASA programs (Affiliates).
CASA Affiliates recruit and train community volunteers to be a “voice in court” for children removed from their homes due to abuse and/or neglect. These advocates “speak up” for these children, helping them get the services they need and ensuring that they find safe, permanent homes. CASA programs operate in all 21 counties in New Jersey. During fiscal year 2018, 1,896 CASA volunteers provided services and advocacy for 3,877 children placed in the state’s care.
