Happy Fall to all the amazing ladies of the Woman’s Club of West Deptford. Can you believe that we are already in October? It is already getting darker earlier!!
What a fantastic start to our year last month, and I am looking forward to more exciting things to come. Remember, we are only as good as we are because of the teamwork and support that we give each other. This is what makes us such an amazing club.

What a busy month September has been as we prepare for our Designer Bag Bingo! I know that all of you understand that the success of this huge fundraiser ensures that we are able to support our Scholarships, GCI delegates, Holiday gift cards and community donations. The Bingo itself does bring in money with our ticket sales, and without ticket sales, we would not have anyone to purchase tickets for our regular and super basket raffles. All aspects of our Bingo event add to our totals for future distribution. It is a very big endeavor and takes all of us to make this fundraiser happen and make it the success that it is. It is also very important to recognize the ladies who bring their spouses to help. Truly a family event, and their support means so much to our success. So…thank you to everyone who has been working behind the scenes so very hard to make sure that we have a fantastic night once again.
Several members attended the September Garden District Council meeting on the 19th. It was great to have Linda J, Carol F, Carol M, Ellen S, Denise H, Debbie H, Nancy B, Joan B, Kim VZ-C and Clara C join me as we were updated on NJSFWC District and State events as well as hearing what all of the other clubs are doing this fall. It was a very informative meeting and we will continue to share all updates and activities with you. A reminder that we will be hosting the January Garden District Council meeting on the 16th at St. Paul’s Methodist Church. More information will be coming in November.
We have three members attending the NJSFWC State Fall Conference on October 21st. Thank you ladies, I am looking forward to hearing all of the news that will be shared at the conference.
Please remember to bring your items to donate to Embrella. The NJSFWC is celebrating the 125th Anniversary of the founding of the Federation by supporting this amazing organization. As a reminder, these donated items go to young people who have aged out of the foster care system. Check with Joan B if you have any questions.
This month our Entertainment Committee scheduled another incredible event. Several ladies attended another Board and Brush event. What a great time! Every one of our ladies picked awesome projects and added their own spin on their design to make it their own. What talent Elaine R, Cheryl F, Agnes K with daughter Sarah, Linda J, Peg S, Sherry W, Joanne K, Denise H, Sue N with daughter Christine have. Those projects were amazing! I personally loved working on my project and have it already on display with my Halloween decorations. I am looking forward to going again…hint.?
As we prepare for our October meeting, I am asking all of you to wear pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There will be information shared at our meeting as this is a very important topic to all of us and it is imperative that we stay current with new discoveries and tests. I have scheduled my mammogram. Have you?
Please remember to bring your Secret Pal gifts and note our new start time for fellowship and refreshments at 6:30 so we may start our meeting at 6:45.
In Federation Friendship,
April
