Our club is teaming up with the Junior Woman’s Club in hiding books in baggies around West Deptford for children to find. This is similar to the rocks that have been hidden around the township in the past. The object is to hide all these books around the township. Children find the books and take them home to keep, read them and pick another book from their home or a new one and hide the book bag again. What a fun way to promote literacy!
Our president April and her grandchildren hid 18 after school the other day. She did the Mid Atlantic Park, Taste of Philly Ice Cream Shoppe and Rivergate Park. Between our club and the Juniors we placed books everywhere…Wawa, Acme, library, little league park, bus stops, etc., everywhere in West Deptford.
Please contact April for more information. This is a great service project!
