Welcome Back! I hope all of you had an absolutely fabulous summer and are ready for another excellent year in the Woman’s Club of West Deptford.

As I was preparing my first article of the 2019-20 club year, this quote came to mind. We are an amazing group of ladies and I admire each one of you and all that you do for the betterment of our club, the community and the Federation. We are an invincible team and I can’t wait to see what we will accomplish this year. I am proud to serve as the President of the WCWD and know that we are going to have a fabulous year! I get to work with an amazing Board and Club Members that bring so much to our meetings and our activities.
Our June Social was excellent, and I always have a great time with all the ladies who are able to attend. Scotland Run did an excellent job, food was amazing and the company exquisite. Our August Book Club was both thought-provoking and entertaining. The treats were awesome as well. What a great summer! Of course our Social Entertainment Committee has not been idle and we have our first Fall event at the end of September at Board and Brush…did you sign up? I did! I can’t wait to go again! Thanks Cynthia and Peg!
Now we are on to the new year and our biggest fundraiser of the year is coming up in October. Designer Bag Bingo brings in the monies that we use to make a difference in so many community organizations, and our Bingo Chairmen Elaine R., Donna B., and Carol M. have been very hard at work all summer. Our September meeting will be our reorganization meeting to get us back on the Woman’s Club momentum and Bingo will be the main topic. Please give our ladies your time and listen to all the new changes and opportunities that will be coming with this year’s Bingo.
I have a full year of activities planned and will be coordinating with Programs Chairman Karen D. as we move forward. I am really looking forward to an exciting, educational group of topics and guests.
I also want to thank two incredible ladies who have led this club for the last three years and whose advice and counsel have been invaluable. Carol and Louise did a great job moving the club forward and keeping up with traditions as well as infusing new ideas. Their leadership, wisdom and friendship have been what has kept our club one of the best! I can only hope to continue to lead as well as they have. Congratulations, ladies, and thank you for your service as Co-Presidents of the Woman’s Club of West Deptford. You both have left a legacy for future Presidents to follow. I am honored to follow in your BIG footsteps!!!!
So…get those Secret Pals gifts ready, find your purple bags and mark your calendars for our first meeting of the new year! September 10th will be here quickly. Please note our new start time of refreshments and fellowship at 6:30 and meeting starting at 6:45. If this works well for most members, I plan on keeping this new start of our meetings.
