September President’s Message

Welcome Back! I hope this first edition of Tidbits finds you well rested, relaxed and ready to get down to business. The board and I have been working this summer with the prior board to make a smooth transition. We look forward to this upcoming two-year term, keeping the traditions and integrity of the club while moving ahead.

“Your journey with us is just beginning, and we’re here to make it extraordinary. We’re so glad you’re here! Let’s celebrate authenticity and creativity together. Welcome to a space where your emotions, stories, and identity truly matter. Thank you for being here!” – Unknown

Guest Speakers/Programs

Our guest speakers are lined up to take us to the end of the year. In September, we will meet  Dr. Kathleen Czekanski, from Del. Valley Alzheimer’s Assoc. As always, our October speakers will be GCI and our HOBY award winner, followed in November by Natalie Fortunato, from the S.J. Dream Center. We are very excited to hear what they have to share with us.

Committees

If you have not signed up for a committee, please think about doing so. If you are a new member this is a great way to meet others in the club. If you are a seasoned member and have not signed up for a committee and wish to, please let me know. You may or may not be aware that our committees have been working through the summer planning various activities and events for the club. Please read through Tidbits to see what they have been up to, and how you can help.

Basket Raffle

Our Basket Raffle committee has been working tirelessly throughout the summer to get everything in place for our largest fundraiser. If you promised a basket for the event, please be sure to bring it to the appropriate drop off, based on if it is wrapped. If it needs to be wrapped it will go to a different spot. If you have not purchased your seat, please do so. You won’t want to miss this event. We need everyone to make this a success. April and Sue, our chairpersons, will discuss this in more detail at our meeting.

Internal Fundraiser

Ann has been working on our first internal fundraiser, our Hoagie Lunch sales.  You should have received your

notification as to what she needs, as well as your order form. Last year we sold 99 lunches. This year, with your help, we are hoping to surpass that.

Zoom Book Club

NJSFWC Workshops and Seminars

I am putting this out to you early as I can’t stress how important it is to attend the report writing workshop if at all possible. This workshop is being held two (2) times; once in October and once in November. You will learn what your report should include and what is being looked for to best project what you have worked so hard to accomplish in your committees. There is also a Canva workshop taking place in mid-October if you are interested. Additional details will be forthcoming,

• October 14, 2026 10:30am-12pm Canva Workshop (New Brunswick)

• October 27, 2026 10:30am-12pm REPORT WRITING

• November 18, 2026 10:30am-12pm  REPORT WRITING

Both workshops are in New Brunswick. Due to the distance, we will make arrangements to carpool.

Records Review

Thank you to Janice Morrison, Sue Nelson, Barb Oldt, Peg Shirey and Chris Taylor, for giving of their time to review our banking records prior to our new board taking over.

In Federation Friendship, I’d like to once again welcome you all back to the start of a new club year.
