Happy Thanksgiving My Friends! This is one of my favorite times of the year. I love to look back on all to be thankful for with my family, friends, and my everyday activities. Please take a moment this Thanksgiving and enjoy the blessings that surround you each day.

As we bask in the results of another fantastic Designer Bag Bingo, I want to recognize all of you who helped to make this event such a fantastic event. A big shout out to our Bingo Chairs who went over and above to make sure we had another wonderful night. It is said that great things come in threes: Donna B., Elaine R. and Carol M…that is you three when it comes to all you did for the club to build our treasury. Not only did you organize a perfect Designer Bag Bingo but with only having 10 days after our event to file the paperwork for the state, you accomplished it all with a couple late nights and a smile.
Another term used is that it takes a village…that is the ladies of the Woman’s Club of West Deptford. We take the time to straighten the crown of another instead of knocking it off. All of you continue to build each other up and recognize the good that we do each and every day! On this Thanksgiving, I extend a humble thank you. This is why we are such a great group of ladies!
Also this month, we had 3 ladies attend the State Fall Conference. Denise H., Clara C., and Joan B. went to the conference and participated in the day’s scheduled events. And…surprise!!!! We were recognized with a certificate for our great membership increase!! Awesome news ladies!!!
Moving forward we have a lot of great activities in the next few months. At our general meeting this month, we will have our own 2nd Vice President Kim Z. and GCI Chair Clara C. give a mini orientation about the our club and the NJSFWC Federation. They will have information to share with you and have set up a few dates for a more in-depth orientation. I look forward to their presentation and all are invited to attend the scheduled orientations.
Also this month, Denise H. and I will be attending a Parliamentarian Workshop at the NJ State Federation Headquarters. I am looking forward to taking a tour of Headquarters and attending this informative workshop.
Our Christmas Party is coming!!! The date is Tuesday, December 10 at Nicolosi’s Catering. The cost is $40.00 and Joanne K. is collecting monies from the membership at our next meeting. We also have some other surprises for our Christmas Party so stay tuned!!!!
I want to recognize all the club committees for your continued work each month, staying on target with deadlines and keeping us up to date on what your committee is doing. I am trying to meet or call each committee chair to keep informed and to help where I can as we move forward into the new year.
Finally, I want to recognize Jeannette W. for all the work she does with our Special Club Project: Family Promise and our Special State Project: CASA NJ. Jeannette takes the time each month to collect all donations, purchase items and make sure that all of our donations make it to these worthwhile organizations. Please remember these projects and give what you can, when you can. Every dollar does make a difference!
The NJSFWC Day of Service is November 16. Please be sure to read the information from Joan B, our Federation Secretary, and donate what you can. Our November meeting is your last chance.
As we check our calendar for our November meeting, I am asking all of our members to wear their club shirts or purple as we learn about our Federation, Club and recognize all of us as members of the Woman’s Club of West Deptford.
