Our one-year Committee on Women’s Suffrage is off to a great start!
Nancy B. has agreed to Co-Chair this standing committee and has already reached out to the Board of Elections and the Women’s League of Voters.
Another idea is having a speaker from the Alice Paul Institute who does programs and assemblies. We have some other ideas that we want to share with this committee. We hope to meet as a committee soon to get our project finalized and ready to present.
Once we have our information together, we will reach out to the WD High School Principal to see when we can hold an assembly for Juniors and Seniors. We have time to get new voters registered on time for the Primary and the November Election.
One of the things we will be doing is sharing the history of the Suffrage movement and how it has progressed to today. I have reached out to our Social Entertainment Committee about having a trip to the Alice Paul Institute in Mt. Laurel for a visit. It is sure to be a very educational and enlightening trip.
We are very excited about this project and look forward to seeing it through. We already have two members signed up to be on this committee with Nancy B. and April, and we are looking for more people to volunteer.
