December President’s Message

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa and Happy Holidays to all! This is such a magical time of year and I love the anticipation that comes with the holidays. It is the feeling that comes from the Christmas music, the decorations both inside and outside your home, getting each special gift for those on your list and of course watching those Hallmark Christmas Movies. I hope each and every one of you enjoys this most festive time of year with those who are close to your heart. Make memories, take pictures, and eat those cookies!

Be that woman who roots for the other woman, tells a stranger her hair looks amazing and encourages other women to believe in themselves and their dreams.

I can’t believe that we are at the end of 2019! What a busy year the Woman’s Club of West Deptford has had! I feel so fortunate to work with such an amazing group of ladies. We have been part of some fantastic projects and activities,  and we are just getting started.

Our club has been busy with some amazing activities the last few weeks.

Our Social Activity was a trip to Gia Nina’s for a delicious lunch and fellowship as 11 ladies met to spend some relaxing time together. Thank you Cynthia H-B. and Peg S. for organizing this amazing afternoon.

A big thank you to our Public Issues Chairman, Robin E., who with several of our members and in conjunction with Operation Yellow Ribbon, held a Christmas Stocking stuffing afternoon for our US Troops serving overseas. A great job done by our active ladies!

I was very happy to join our Club Parliamentarian Denise H. at NJSFWC Headquarters this past month to attend a Parliamentarian Workshop on proper procedures for running our club meetings and formal events.

And what would we do without our Arts Creative Chairman and First Vice President Linda J.? She along with Denise H., Agnes K., Denise P., Carol M., Cheryl F. and Jo S. created such lovely snowmen centerpieces for our January Council meeting. The centerpieces look absolutely amazing.

Also, our volunteering continues as Debbie H., Doris E., Joan B. and Sue N. helped out at the South Jersey Dream Center stuffing envelopes. Thank you, ladies for supporting another worthwhile organization.

And now we are in December and will be holding our Dinner Meeting at Nicolosi’s Catering as we celebrate the holidays with a delicious dinner and excellent conversation. Don’t forget your “ugly” sweater and new ornament for our ornament exchange tree. And of course we will be revealing our Secret Pals at our Dinner. If you did not get a chance to be part of this fun activity, look for the Secret Pal sheet at the end of this newsletter, fill it out and give it to Kim C. at our Holiday Dinner. We will be picking new Secret Pals that night!!! Linda J. and I have been working together to make this event memorable as we end 2019. We hope to see all of you there.

On December 18th our lovely ladies will be singing Christmas carols at Manor Care Health Services. We will meet at Manor Care by 6:15/6:20 so we can be ready to go to the community rooms and entertain the residents.

I want to wish all of our ladies and their families a wonderful holiday and I wish each of you only the best of everything as we enter 2020.

Happy Holidays!

April
