May Presidents’ Message

Hello, ladies,

Spring has sprung! We are inspired this time of year for spring cleaning, planting of spring flowers, and just maybe relaxing while watching the spring birds appear.

Our club has sprung into action. Eight members attended the annual Garden District Spring Arts Conference. We had new member and first time attendee Joann Keefe take first place (Gold Ribbon) with her beautiful acrylic painting and her crocheted carriage blanket. Both entries will be entered at the Convention in Atlantic City. Thank you to the numerous club members who entered their creative items too. All are beautiful.

The West Deptford Book Festival held at Riverwinds was a big success. Thank you Linda Jones for organizing our craft table. The guests really enjoyed making the crafts and also taking them home to work on with their grandchildren. Our volunteers had fun too as they relieved the authors for their break and had a chance to chat with them. There were a nice variety of books and unique authors.

BIG thank you to our Bingo Committee for your energy, leadership, and your commitment to our largest fundraiser as you organize another successful Bingo.

Thank you, members, for continuing to collect. We have the most generous and thoughtful members anywhere. You collect for our club, organizations, and our community. Small or large, it all adds up. The most valuable gift of all is your gift of time!

Our membership is at an all-time high with 46 members! That is awesome. Thank you to the members who continue to spread the word about our club to a neighbor, former co-worker, or even someone you struck up a conversation with on a cruise ship! Our website is an effective recruiting tool as well. There is always room for one more. For the size of our town, looks like we still have work to do, so keep on recruiting!!!

However, we would like to emphasize that if you are a new member, we encourage you to attend our new member orientation. This will give you the scope of our club and Federation. For more information on when and where to attend a new member orientation, please contact our Membership Chair, Kim Czoch.

Our club does a lot of work. We are many moving parts and we sometimes need to stop and have fun. Thank you, Social Entertainment Committee for continuing to keep us connected on a social level. It’s nice to be able to connect with members that you might not be able to do during our regular monthly meetings.

Jeanette Wood will be receiving the Order of the Lily award and Linda Jones will be receiving the Honor Roll award at this years’ NJSFWC Annual Convention in Atlantic City. How exciting and so deserving! Our club members who are attending Convention this year, have fun!

In Federation Friendship & Love,

Carol & April
