Oakview School Literacy Night

On March 28 nine members of WCWD arrived to help at Oakview School’s Second Annual Literacy Night. They read the story, Harry the Dirty Dog and then helped first grade students and some siblings to assemble Harry the Dog bookmarks. The activity was repeated four times.

The sessions were only 15 minutes so it was quite a rush to get everything done in the time frame, but what fun was had by all! Luckily, parents, a teacher, and student helpers assisted in assembling the project.

Thanks to Linda J. for designing the bookmark. The kids loved their bookmarks! All the women from the club were very excited by the project and the reaction of the participants and their parents. They have stated they want to participate again next year. . . brave souls!

Thank you Linda J., Isabella C., Carol M., Denise P., Chris T., Joanne K. Peg S., Cynthia H-B, and Linda M.
