April showers bring our May flower sale. For those members who purchased the flowers, I hope you enjoyed them.
Spring Conference was a fun day. Nine club members attended the luncheon at the Pennsauken Country Club: Dorothy, Tannis, Joan, Debbie, Sandy, Linda, Carol, Cynthia and myself. It was quite a display of the entries from various categories. Our club had thirteen entries. They were so creative! Hopefully, next year we will have even more entries.
The 2018-2020 Women’s Club Executive Board was elected and installed in April: Corresponding Secretary – Sandy; Recording Secretary – Doris; Federation Secretary – Joan; Treasurer Operating – Patty W.; Treasurer Raffle – Carol M.; Membership – Kim; First VP – April; Co-Presidents – Louise and Carol. Welcome new board member April! Your new Board, above, is ready to serve.
Thank you to the new CSPs that have signed up to chair their position for 2018-2020, Public Issues – Robin Evans; Scholarship – Karen Dickel; and Home Life – Deb Hinkle. Also a big thank you to the CSPs who remained in their positions and are willing to serve again.
Our club, along with the Juniors are hosting the 2018 Garden District Girls’ Career Institute Reception on May 17, 6:30 p.m. at the West Deptford High School. Very interesting night to hear from the Director of GCI and a few housemothers about the experience that the girls are going to have.
The 124th Annual Convention of the N.J. State Federation of Women’s Clubs of GFWC will take place on May 7-9 at The Golden Nugget in Atlantic City. Debbie, Louise, Denise H. and myself plan on attending. Joan, Carol M., Sandy and Kim will join us on Wednesday for the business session, and of course, lunch afterwards. Denise Hosier will be installed as the NJSFWC Webmaster for the state of New Jersey. Congrats, Denise!
