Special Club Project: Family Promise

We collected $47.00 last month at our club meeting plus one club member donated a duffle bag. Thank you! Thank you!

I purchased 4 duffle bags with the money collected and delivered the 5 bags to the Day Center in Glassboro. If you want to help with this project, you can purchase a duffle bag online and have it sent to my house. If you would rather give a donation toward the duffle bags, I will collect it at our meeting.

Thank you so much for your continued support to help the homeless in our community!

About Family Promise

Family Promise of Southwest New Jersey is a project our club has been supporting for about ten years now. Their mission is to help homeless families by providing temporary housing and social services that will help clients achieve housing independence. They also have programs to help prevent homelessness.

St. Paul’s, where our club meets, is one of 13 host churches that provide meals for the families in the program. This is done four times a year, and the next host week is May 15-21. If you are interested in donating a meal to the residents of the program (about 10 people), see Denise H. She will connect you to our coordinator.

A Testimonial

“My gratitude towards Family Promise is something I will never be able to fully express… I came in with my 6-month-old son and they were able to get me into my very own place within the first month. The hospitality was amazing, the volunteers were so happy to help, and I could ask [Director] Vicki for anything! Going into the program I was in a very dark place in my life, … Graduating the program I felt empowered, and confident to take on the world again with my baby boy. I don’t know where me and my son would be without this amazing program. Thank you Family Promise!”
