October Presidents’ Message

Hi Ladies,

Welcome new members! We use a lot of acronyms and they are listed in our club yearbook that will be available at the October meeting. Please feel free to ask any club member, our membership chairman, Kim Van Zoeren-Czoch, or Carol or I if you have any questions. We’re all here to assist and welcome you. After all, we were all new members at one time.

Thank you to the ladies who have stepped up and have taken on a CSP position. We are, however, still looking for someone to chair the following committees: Arts Performing, Education, and International Outreach. Is someone interested in chairing one of these committees, perhaps two people to share the duties of each of these committees?

According to Susan S. Chambers, our NJSFWC Home Life Community Service Program Coordinator, October is Long-Term Care Awareness Month. It’s never too soon to plan for your future.

Karen Manneback, the NJSFWC International Outreach Coordinator, states that 1.7 million children will die from diseases that have all but disappeared in the United States. One in five children around the world does not have access to immunizations needed to survive. The simple solution is to get vaccinated. For more information see Shot@LIfe.org.

A big thank you goes out to the Bingo Committee for all their hard work to make this year’s bingo a successful event. We still need to sell tickets, though. We ask that everyone contribute towards this event and plan to attend to help out. Some of you may be asked to take on a different job than you previously held. Please step up to the plate and if you’re able, please take on the task that you have been asked to fill. Thank you!

As a reminder, Carol and I would like to let you know that you do not have to contribute to every box and envelope that comes around at our general meetings. You can be selective if you wish or not donate at all. It is your choice and you will not be pointed out if you do not contribute to any of the charities that we support each month. And since we’re on reminders, our official club name is the GFWC Woman’s Club of West Deptford (WCWD). Another reminder—please think before you reply to an email. Do I need to “Reply All” or should I reply only to the sender? Many times, we only need to reply to the sender.

A big thank you also goes out to the By Laws Committee for making needed revisions. Another big thank you goes out to Denise Hosier for creating our yearbook and also to Clara Campbell for getting it printed at a good price.

Some of our members have been under the weather or have had or are expecting surgery. Carol and I hope everyone begins to heal. Ladies, you know who you are. Please let us know if you need anything. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Bingo. Let’s make this event the most successful one yet! E-A-G-L-E-S!

In Federation Friendship & Love,
Louise & Carol
