Sewing Facemasks

Another suggestion came up in the past few days. The NJSFWC has posted a link on how to make face masks for those in need. I am including the link here. https://njsfwc.org/sewing-masks-for-hospitals/ .

Wearing face masks is something we have to seriously consider. I heard today that the Governor has asked that we wear these masks when going to grocery shopping, etc. I know a couple of our ladies are making them (myself included) or ordering them to have for family and friends.

So…if any of our club members who sew would like to make masks, let me know. It would be a great project to make masks and share them within the club. I am using what I have at home but some of you may be able to order supplies and have it shipped to you.

If you are interested in ordering materials and making masks to share with members or our local senior center, keep your receipts. When we are able to meet again as a group, we can discuss and vote on using some of our emergency fund to reimburse you. We could also consider an internal fundraiser just for reimbursements. Either way, if you are able to sew and are willing to make masks to donate to our members, again let me know. Together we will get through this unprecedented time.

Continue to stay safe and I will keep you updated as things are shared with me.

Virtual hugs, prayers and positive thoughts for all of you!
