Special State Project Report

Emmanuel Cancer Foundation

We were so pleased to hear from our local ECF director, Mary Ann Sullivan, at our November meeting. She gave us an overview of the ways they work with families dealing with pediatric cancer.

They help in three major ways:

  • In-Home Counseling: Free assistance for the entire family.
  • Material Assistance: Food, toys, clothing, and gifts.
  • Emergency Financial Aid to help with urgent needs.

Our club will be participating in several projects over this club year, the first one being gift wrapping for the organization’s holiday party.

Gift Wrapping Project

Five members wrapped 58 Christmas gifts for children served by ECF. They not only give to the children who have been diagnosed with cancer but to their siblings as well. Although we voted to spend $100 on gift wrap, we only spent $37.26. Wrapping members brought and donated several rolls of paper.

Mary Ann Sullivan was very pleased and thankful for our part in this project. Thanks to Sue N., Ann C., Denise P., Jody H. and Debbie H. See photo above.
