First and foremost, thank you to all of our members who supported our Basket Raffle, our biggest fundraiser of our club year. It takes a village to make this event a success and those of you who donated baskets, worked our event, wrote letters to sponsors, sold seats and just showed up made this event another fantastic occasion. As we are still going over specifics, I will give a more detailed breakdown at our November meeting but here is what we have:
We booked our event for 200 guests, we sold 176 seats. Between the raffle tickets, super basket and mystery bags, we made over $10,000. We have not added in the Sponsor numbers yet but that in total is somewhere around $4,000. Now, out of the sponsor money we did have expenses, but overall we made out really well. We will give exact figures at our meeting. Our 50/50 made $1,560. This is awesome! $780 for the NJ Children’s Alliance and $780 for our winner.
A big thank you to our Basket Raffle Committee—I call them our Gems. This would not have been possible without the unwavering support, encouragement, errand running, raffle bookkeeping (all Sue) and last-minute details that needed attention. They all made my job so much easier. The comments that I received from our guests were very positive as our baskets really are the best around.
As I stated above, I will be going over final numbers with the committee before our next meeting but we all need just a few days away from the raffle to recharge.
Again, thank you to all who supported this event, which will help fund so many de-serving organizations. The Woman’s Club of West Deptford is one of the best clubs around and I am so fortunate to be part of such a wonderful, caring group of women!
